PTPI offers a variety of international educational and cultural programs and activities and at the same time, one is able to partake in the movement towards peace through understanding. We wanted to be a part of that movement. Change takes years and years, but one must start somewhere. Anyone can make a difference, no matter how small.

So, what's the story behind the founding of the PTPI Värmland Chapter, Sweden? It just so happens that Antoinette Mc Intyre-Andersson and one of the board members of the People to People Sports Ambassador Programs, Rafer Johnson, grew up in the same hometown in California: Kingsburg - "the Swedish Village";  which is also one of the sister cities of Sunne, a town situated just 60 kilometers from PTPI Värmland Chapter headquarters, Karlstad. Antoinette touched base with Rafer in May 2005, as she was interested in initiating some type of sports and cultural exchange between Sweden and the states. In that same phone call, Rafer mentioned the People to People International organization.
